Quick and Delicious Baked Apple and Pear Bites

Mix and match any of the following ingredients to create the perfect snack. I like the layer the cheese and bread first, so the apples and pears stay put once the cheese melts, but you can leave the cheese (and the bread) out all together if you’d like.

Ingredients

  • Apples
  • Pears
  • Fresh Baguette
  • Honey
  • Walnuts
  • Brie cheese
  • Chia seeds
  • Cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Slice bread, apples, pears and cheese.
  2. Create little layered bites: bread, brie, apple or pear.
  3. Drizzle honey and then top with walnuts and chia seeds.
  4. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes. Let cool.
  5. Pair your yummy snack with some green tea and honey. I added a little fresh apple puree and cinnamon to my tea for a delicious afternoon pick-me-up. It tastes like warm apple cider with the bonus of green tea.

All that healthy goodness

The apples and pears topped with honey is enough sweet to make any sweet tooth happy. Bread and cheese are a yummy combination that adds a bit of creamy goodness with crunchy toast. Top it all with walnuts and chia seeds for little bit of extra flavor and added protein… just the perfect combination to battle the afternoon drag in the long winter days. Add in Nature Made® Vitamin D and I’m good for the rest of the afternoon.

Daily Goals and Vitamin D

I’ve partnered with Nature Made® to share a healthy snack to keep your creative energy flowing all winter long.  You know I love making art with my food … I love these layered fruit and cheese bites because they taste Ah-mazing, are easy to make and are just the extra afternoon treat keep me going until dinner, (they’re great for parties too).

My own daily creative routine includes eating well accompanied by supplements I need and of course plenty of art making. Even in Colorado, with our 300 days of sunshine, vitamin D is a part of my daily routine and Nature Made® is my goto brand.
