Time to create patriotic projects and celebrate! Today I have a fun coloring page and craft activity to share with you. Download and print out the free patriotic Stars and Stripes coloring craft page below and then you can create all kinds of fun celebration decor and accents using your colored pieces.
Make your own patriotic party decor and accents. I like making my own kid-friendly, non-flame star wands and wavers. Here in Colorado we can't always use sparklers. Some years all fireworks have been banned due to really dry weather and a fire risk. Glitter is a great second choice I think!
DIY American Flag and Paper Sparkler Wands
Make your own sparklers, wands and patriotic decor! Use this printable to create a Mini American flag and star wand. This is a great party accent and, BONUS, a good alternative when sparklers aren't a good choice.
Materials
- Patriotic party printable – download below
- Paper or cardstock
- Ribbons
- Glitter or glitter glue
- Glue
- Small sticks or dowels
Instructions:
Use glitter glue and your favorite markers or crayons to color and decorate the page. Then cut out the pieces, tape or glue them to a wooden dowel (or straws work too) and then decorate the stick with sparkly chenille stems (pipe cleaners) and curly ribbon. Make all kinds of cute wands the kids can play with for your Red, White and Blue celebrations! This is also a fun activity to put together for the kids to make themselves.

You can do so many different things with this free patriotic printable! Make a bunch of flags to create your own American Flag garland or decorate the stars and use them as cupcake toppers. Have the kids help color while you bake and you'll have a family activity everyone will love!
