Have you ever been to a real Día de los Muertos celebration? I haven't but I'm going to celebrate at the Denver Botanic Gardens this Saturday and I'm really excited. I remember years ago in an art class we made pieces inspired by Day of the Dead. But I've never had the opportunity to join in an actual celebration.
The Denver Botanic Gardens is hosting a Día de los Muertos celebration, here are a few of the details:
Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a Mexican celebration, is a day to celebrate, remember and prepare special foods in honor of those who have departed. This event will feature live entertainment, artists, dancers and traditional crafts. There will also be traditional face painting and a photo booth, as well as delicious treats. Located at Denver Botanic Gardens, 1007 York St, Denver, Colorado.
For more information or to purchase tickets, visit the Denver Botanic Gardens website.
I'll let you know later in the weekend how we like it.
