Decorate Christmas gifts with pretty little paper flowers. This paper flower Christmas gift topper is easy to create. This is a Cricut project from my new Trim the Tree holiday set available through Design Space. Make one small flower for a little gift or make a bouquet for a larger gift, you decide!
BONUS! Look below for details about a fun giveaway I'm hosting this week!
Make Your Own Paper Flower Christmas Gift Topper
The poinsettia flower is made up of multiple paper layers that you can customize in Cricut Design Space. The design comes with multiple cut layers as well as coordinating draw lines so you can mix and match your flowers to create a number of flowers for all kinds of gift toppers. For this gift topper I used the Cricut flatten feature to allow me to print the lines and colors from the design. This technique makes creating colored pieces really quick!
Materials
- Cricut Machine and Cricut Design Space
- Poinsettia design file from the Trim the Tree design set by Jen Goode
- White cardstock and a printer
- Glue
Alternatively, you can create this project using colored paper and your favorite Cricut pens. I think it would look gorgeous with a gold glitter ink accent!
Instructions
- Go to the Cricut project canvas I've already set up for you. Make sure the sizing of the flower is what you'd like, just measure the green flower piece for your largest/smallest sizing.
- Follow on-screen instructions to print and cut the paper flower pieces.
- Glue each layer together to create a stack.
- Add to your gift! You might like to add a fancy gift tag too.
Printing line art with your Cricut
Instead of cutting all different paper layers and adding pen/drawing accents, you can easily print the entire design. Simply flatten lines and cut pieces together to create an easy-to-create printed piece. Your Cricut machine will cut around the design as it would any printed design and you can enjoy quick projects with line details!
For extra accents, you can also create a duplicate line layer to draw. Print a flattened with with it's printed line art and then set your Cricut project to draw an accent layer. Gold glitter lines on top of this printed project would look fantastic!
I love to wrap gifts so I'm always playing with gift topper ideas. These Christmas flower gift toppers are easy to make and fun to personalize. Check out the entire Trim the Tree design set, now available in Cricut Design Space!
