Today I am joining in with a group of designers and craft manufacturers in the 3rd Annual Handmade Holidays Blog Hop, inspiring handmade gift ideas you're going to love. I really like creating with paper so I'm going to share an easy ornament project with you that you can personalize to create unique gifts and decor your family will love. You can make these paper ornaments out of recycled material, scraps and even non-paper such as fabric or plastic. Use what you have on hand to create something that is as unique as you are.
BONUS: Make sure to keep reading, there's a a fun giveaway and FREE printable mentioned below.
I added photos to the above box to create a custom decoration for our tree.
You can also leave off the hanger and use these pretty blocks to create word art decor…
When it comes to paper, I think the design is important but so is the paper quality. A nice thick card stock with a little bit of “tooth”, or texture, is my first choice. So I started by printing black and white designed on a thick watercolor bristol. You can use whatever you like. Graphic 45 is one of today's featured manufacturers and their papers would be gorgeous for this DIY craft! Don't forget, you don't have to make your ornaments in a Christmas theme. Your ornaments can be whatever art you like.
After making these ornaments, I realized… I don't have a tree up to show you how awesome they will look on the Christmas tree. I'll have to get creative in the morning to get you some photos that inspire a little more holiday spirit.
You can use all kinds of paper designs to create a whole pile of pretty block ornaments…
The best part about this project… you can use whatever materials you'd like. All of the companies and designers below have amazing ideas to share… you can incorporate many of them into your ornaments – have fun with it!
