All the years I've lived in Colorado, I'd never been to Pirates Cove in Colorado until July of this year. I can't believe I missed out on all that summer fun all these years. It's a great family outdoor activity venu offering water fun for all ages. There are huge slides, a giant pirate ship with loads of sprayers, water falls and even an enormous bucket that fills up with water and then dumps on the people below. You'll also find diving boards, a sidewalk spray/fountain area and a sand play area with terrific sand castle building sand.
My favorite activity of the day was the tubing. There's a lazy river that circles the slide area. It was so relaxing to sit in an inner tube and float in the water for a while. If you're not in the mood to float down the lazy river, there are a ton of lounge chairs you can relax in or you can also rent a cabana to get yourself a little private space out of the sun. You can purchase food at the snack bar or bring your own. We ended our trip with a slushie to take home, there's also snowcones – yum!
We had so much fun at Pirates Cove. Even when an afternoon rain storm rolled in, we played in the water and had a great time. Pirates Cove is still open on weekends through Labor Day, so get out there for one last summer HooRah before the kids go back to school! Disclaimer: I received free passes to visit Pirates Cove so my family could check it out first hand to provide this review. All opinions and photos are my own.
That looks like a lot of fun! Maybe I can get there next season.
