Recently I've been looking for salsa options that don't include tomatoes. So when I heard mangos made great salsa, I played around with ideas and came up with this yummy and easy mango salsa recipe. You can add more spices if you'd like and even add other fruit flavors. We like the fresh summer flavors and it goes perfectly with both chicken and fish.
Easy Mango Salsa
I like to use fresh ingredients when possible. This easy mango salsa is perfect for summer meals. It's much easier to find ripe mangos at the local grocery store during the summer months. If you need to, go with a canned variety, but make sure they are diced or whole do you can dice them. Fresh mango tends to be nice and firm which you want for this yummy salsa… not too firm, but not mushy.
Ingredients
- 1 Fresh mango – diced
- 1/2 Medium white onion – chopped
- 1 TBS Fresh cilantro – chopped
- 1 tsp lime juice
- 1/4 tsp salt
I like to use a fresh lime for this recipe. I just cut a lime in half, squeeze the juice over the other ingredients in the bowl and then continue with the recipe.
Instructions
- Combine mango, onion in a bowl, stir together.
- Sprinkle salt, cilantro and add lime juice, stir gently.
- Enjoy
That's it.
We're trying to avoid all the nightshades right now, but I think if you are ok eating peppers, some sweet peppers, chopped, would be fabulous with this mango salsa. Maybe sprinkle a little chili power too. I'd love to hear how you mix up this recipe… enjoy it all summer!
