DIY Valentine Love Banner

I don't always decorate for every holiday. But making fun word banners is a simple way to add an extra holiday touch without a lot of set up. Today's project is a Love Banner you can make for Valentine's Day (or any random Tuesday if you'd like). Simply download the full alphabet banner printable set, choose your letters and print on the paper of your choice. I'll show you how to add this pretty watercolor pink below.

Make an easy LOVE banner for Valentine's Day

Instead of using colored paper, I made my own. You can easily create your own watercolor paper using basic white cardstock and your watercolor paints. Add any colors you'd like. Blend or create a color wash. For this love banner, I used a couple different shades of pink and washed them together. Once the paper was dry, I printed the letters on to the paper.

Supplies to make your own quick and easy LOVE banner for Valentine's Day

Instructions

  1. Print the letters on to your paper. To print 2 different letters to a page: Print one letter on to a piece of cardstock (I shrank the letters to 80%). Flip the paper over and print the next letter. Be careful to pay attention to which way you are inserting the paper into your printer so the letter prints on the page as you'd like. I like to practice once with standard printer paper so I don't accidentally use up my pretty watercolored paper.
  2. Cut out each banner.
  3. Glue or tape each banner to the twine.
  4. Display however you'd like.

  1. I “love” your love banner! I think it’s easier to just buy pretty patterned paper from the local office store, and print on those. An easy trick I found was to use a glue stick to make a thin layer on my paper (I used just a few streaks around the outside, then sprinkle a little glitter on them for an extra touch of sparkle, and let dry for an hour. Thank you for sharing!
