DIY Cute Ghost Cupcakes

Written by: | Published: October 18, 2024 | Updated: October 17, 2024

Add a little spirited fun to your Halloween cupcakes with an easy-to-make ghost cupcake pick. This file can be customized and used with your Cricut machine to quickly cut out a batch of these little ghost SVG files.

This cupcake topper can be crafted with layers of cardstock or apply vinyl to cardstock. Or, for a really quick craft, print out each complete ghost and then attach it to the toothpick as a complete design.

Making cute ghost cupcake picks

Dress up a cupcake with a cute ghost cupcake pick that you make yourself. Change the ghost faces for a fun personal touch, or make this craft as is. You can also personalize the little sign this ghost is holding… or leave the sign out all together.

How to make a ghost cupcake pick with your Cricut

Cupcake picks take only a few steps to make. I like to use cardstock, glue and toothpicks. However, there are a number of ways to create this kind of pick. You can try vinyl, printed designs, stickers and other materials. Experiment to find the process you like best and have fun!

Instructions:

  1. To make this cupcake topper, first download the free SVG file below.
  2. Upload the file to Cricut Design Space.
  3. Resize to your preferred size.
  4. Customize any features or the sign as you'd like
  5. Follow on-screen instructions to cut the design.
  6. After weeding, layer the cut images and glue together, leaving the largest back piece.
  7. Apply glue to the layered design.
  8. Add the top 1/3 of the toothpick to the center of the glue.
  9. Add glue to the last cut piece and sandwich the toothpick between this back cut image and the layered cut image.

Optionally, you can glue all the cut layers and then glue the toothpick to the back of the final piece. Using the sandwich method, the toothpick is hidden from view once inserted into the cupcake.
