How to Decorate a Tote Bag with Iron-on Vinyl

Pick your favorite iron-on vinyl and a cut design and that's all you need to decorate a tote bag. Cotton fabric tote bags work best with the iron-on vinyl material, but you can test other fabric types and see how you like the result.

Today we're making this simple, elegant tote bag using a black and white patterned vinyl available through the Cricut online store.

Instructions

I've set up a Cricut Design Space canvas with this flower design ready to go. This is one of the flowers available in my Flower Bouquet image set. You can add additional layers or cut as is if you'd like.

  1. Follow on-screen instructions to cut the vinyl design.
  2. Using an iron or your EasyPress, heat set the vinyl to the tote bag.

Iron-on vinyl art is a great way to upcycled an old tote bag or even cover an old design.

  1. It is good to know that it would be smart to think about vinyl iron-on and what you can do with it. I liked that you showed that you can do a lot of fun things with it and a tote bag. I want to get a nice looking tote bag for a trip I am planning on going on soon.
