We love iron-on vinyl around here. So today let's talk about easy iron-on projects with EasyPress 2, projects you can make in minutes. I've talked about using iron-on vinyl before, mostly for t-shirts. But did you know you can use iron-on vinyl for other materials too? The EasyPress 2 makes it even more convenient to create heat-pressed projects beyond the t-shirt.
T-shirts and beyond! Today I'm showing you how to make an easy iron-on art notebook cover. I'll also share a few iron-on tips and tell you all about the new Cricut EasyPress 2 machine.
Check out my review of the original Cricut Easy Press. The Easy Press 2 is a new and improved version of the original. You're going to love it!
Easy Iron-on Projects with Cricut EasyPress
You can certainly create t-shirt art and other fun fabric projects with iron-on vinyl and your EasyPress. You'll never have to buy another graphic-T again. Just create all your own clever word art designs, cut with your Cricut and you're good to go!
However, don't stop there. You can apply iron-on vinyl to all kinds of materials. If you can iron it, you can probably apply vinyl. Or, maybe I should say, if heat won't hurt it, you can probably apply iron-on vinyl.
“When we launched Cricut EasyPress last summer, our goal was to make the iron-on process seamless for makers that gives them a better solution than what’s currently in the market: a bulky heat press or a home iron with unreliable and inconsistent heat settings. EasyPress 2 takes our mission to a whole new level with technology improvements and two new sizes in addition to our popular 9”x9” size that expands the capabilities of what people can make.” — Ashish Arora, Cricut CEO
What is the EasyPress?
The EasyPress is a hand-held tool that allows you to apply iron-n vinyl with a unique, smooth surface heating plate. This is similar to a heat press without the bulk of a big machine. You also don't have to worry about uneven heating like you might with a standard iron. The EasyPress 2 is the second generation of this fantastic tool.
What's new with the EasyPress 2
The original Cricut EasyPress is an innovation all it's own for the heat press community. As a first generation product, it offers a wide variety of features making heat press projects even easier to more accessible.
Now, take a look at the second generation of this fantastic product. It's definitely been improved (and re-colored) and we love it!
Here's what you can expect from the Cricut EasyPress 2:
New sizes – there are now 3 sizes to choose from depending on the type of projects you want to create. If you love making t-shirts in all sizes, the large EasyPress would be a great fit. It's big enough to easily iron those larger shirts without requiring too many passes. On the other hand, if you plan to make mostly small projects like baby-onesies, greeting cards or decorated purses or totes, the small EasyPress 2 is for you. If you like making all kinds of projects (hello, that's me!), the standard sized EasyPress 2 is a great all-around tool.
Or, go crazy and buy all three machines! I make more paper crafts than t-shirts, so the standard and small sizes are best for me.
- Faster heating – the EasyPress 2 heats up in 60 seconds or less.
- Hotter heat settings – with a higher, precise temperature option (400°F (205°C). , you can make even more projects.
- Quick Guide for Help – New Interactive Quick Reference Guide, enter time and temperature.
- Thicker Heat Plate Design – created for more uniform heating for long-lasting results
- And don't forget… Plus a pretty new Raspberry Red accent color.
