It's that time of year again, 100th day of school. Yesterday was the start of the week long theme for my kids. They use the whole “100” theme to really play on math concepts and talk about groups of ten, etc. Every year at least one of the kids has to bring in 100 of something for the festivities. Sometimes it's a project with 100 things on it and sometimes it's items that can be counted. This year, my youngest had to fill a bag with a 100 mystery items and give 3 clues so her classmates could guess.

I had a big bowl of gold buttons I've been using in projects for Buttons Galore and more, so I figured sharing with the kindies was a great way to spread some button fun. We counted the buttons out into groups of ten and then we were set.
Other 100th day goodies we've shared over the years…
- 100 Mini oreos – that's the yummiest 100th day we've had. This would also be a good snack choice using Gold Fish, Teddy Grahams or other favorite mini bites of food.
- 100 Stickers – we had a big 24×36″ poster frame that we covered in all kinds of stickers as an assigned project.
- 100 pieces of popcorn – it's really hard to count popcorn without eating it along the way.
- 100 playing cards – how many decks with missing cards do you have around the house?
- I'm sure if I dig through everyone's rooms I'd come up with 100 un-matched socks!
