There are a ton of project ideas you can create using Mod Podge. I used to work in a picture/art frame shop where we would use Mod Podge to create a painted brush stroke texture to printed art. Now I use Mod Podge to seal crafts and create cool finishes for home decor. Check out the celebration: Plaidonline.com/modpodge50
What is Mod Podge
Mod Podge is a sealer/adhesive you paint on to your projects. It's kind of like a liquid glue with a few more uses. One of the most popular or common uses of Mod Podge is creating decoupage projects. This is a technique of layering paper or fabric to create pretty art layers. Mod Podge comes in a variety of finishes from outdoor to high gloss. There's also a fun glow in the dark version.

Celebrating 50 years of Mod Podge
More About Mod Podge
Norcross, GA – February 16th, 2017 – Mod Podge, the all-in-one glue, sealer and finish that has been a favorite for generations of crafters and DIYers, turns 50 years old in 2017. To celebrate this milestone, Plaid Enterprises, Mod Podge’s parent company, is planning a year-long celebration of its iconic brand with events and activities throughout the year.
National Mod Podge Day
As part of the celebration, Plaid has declared May 19th National Mod Podge Day. “The goal is to make May 19th‘a national day of making,’” said Debbie Henley, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Plaid. “We want as many people as possible around the country on that day creating and sharing projects that they make with Mod Podge and basically just having fun in a nationwide craft party! We created the hashtag #NationalModPodgeDay so everyone can share their projects and see what others are doing.”
Plaid will also be engaging its team of bloggers, craft celebrities, and social media influencers to craft and share their work on that day as well. Collectively, this group has millions of followers on various social media channels. Plaid will post a schedule of Facebook Live video streams happening throughout the day, as well as contests and giveaways hosted on various craft blogs and social media sites. Plaid is also working with its retail partners to promote the occasion across the country.

About Mod Podge
Decoupage was all the rage in the 1960’s, but it was a tedious and messy process involving multiple layers of varnish and sanding. All that changed in 1967 when an Atlanta-based interior designer and inventor named Jan Wetstone created a fast and easy alternative. She named her product Mod Podge, a shortened form of “modern decoupage.” Over the past 50 years, Mod Podge has expanded from the original Matte and Gloss formulas and is now available in 23 unique finishes and a full selection of tools and accessories.
