Grab some crescent rolls and make these Easy Cream cheese and cranberry filled croissants with me today. These yummy croissant roll was inspired by this past month's Croissant day. I don't know if that is really a real day to celebrate, but on Instagram there were hundreds of photos of yummy bready treats, so I made up my own recipe. I'm sure this is not a real croissant, but it's a darn good close second when you want that delicious flavor and a fancy little treat. I also painted and drew a picture of croissants because I had to practice some art making – I'll show you that another day. Let's get making!
Easy Cream cheese and cranberry filled croissants
I like to make food half homemade from scratch, There's some items I just don't make well or I don't know how to make, or I don't have time to make so I'll use ingredients that are partially pre-made. In this Croissant recipe, I am using pre-made crescent roll dough from Pilsbury instead of making my own dough. One of these days, I'll learn how to make good homemade dough!
Ingredients
- Crescent rolls
- Cream cheese (1 pkg)
- Dried cranberries – about a cup
- Honey – optional
Instructions
- Roll out the crescent rolls into individual pie pieces.
- Spread some softened cream cheese on to the center of the dough.
- Add a little pile of cranberries on top of the cream cheese.
- Roll the crescent, wide end first, toward the pointed end.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake per the crescent roll instructions.
- Drizzle some honey over the top of the freshly baked rolls and serve.
That's it! These take about 20 minutes to make (including baking time) and you can make as many as you have roll dough. I made 8 with my packaged dough and still had plenty of cream cheese to make another batch.
Try all kinds of yummy fillings with your crescent rolls. I think a savory mix of ham and feta and spinach would be AMAZING! Or you could go all out dessert style and fill the rolls with nutella or maybe chocolate and dried cherries. I think I will have to experiment and make some more. What flavors would you try?
