As you get ready to celebrate Dia De Los Muertos download this Sugar Skull coloring page I've designed for you and share with family and friends. A few years ago my family and I visited Denver Botanic Gardens to celebrate Dia De Los Muertos.
We had an amazing time and I learned SO MUCH about the heritage and culture behind this special celebration. Until that visit, I had never fully participated or knew of all the different activities and events that go along with the Day of the Dead festivities.
Sugar Skull Coloring Page for Dia De Los Muertos
A few years ago I joined a Dia de Los Muertos online event hosted by my friends at Tried & True and Crafty Chica! I asked my daughter what she thought would be a fun activity to create and share. Our favorite Day of the Dead activity was creating a banner in honor of someone who has departed.
At the time we made brightly colored banners in honor of my grandparents – my grandmother had just passed that year so it was a great way to remember her and think of the happy memories we cherish.
This year my daughter is making her own sugar skull art at school and again she is dedicating it to her great grandmother. It's so fantastic to have the ability to discuss memories and thing about people who are gone — with happiness rather than tears.
We had so much fun thinking of colors and images to incorporate — where to put our glitter gems and how many hot pink accents my granny would love. So for my project today, I wanted to share that happiness with you.
I've created a Sugar Skull coloring page that you can download, print and color however you like. Make it a contribution to someone who you love who has passed or enjoy creating a piece of art you can display in your home. Whatever you do, I hope you have a fabulous time!
We spent the afternoon coloring together – I hope you have fun coloring with your family too! Download the Dia De Los Muertos Sugar Skull coloring page below. Then check out the giveaway AND visit all the other fun project ideas and tutorials. I think you're going to love the inspiration ahead!
