First let me say… I truly LOVE this machine. It's really kind of magical how pretty the foiled pieces turn out. Let me tell you more…
Anna Griffin Minc
The Anna Griffin Minc is perfect for creating cards, tags and embellishments that can be used with other projects
- Anna Griffin Minc features:
- Ability to accept a 6” wide sheet
- Evenly distributed pressure rollers for an even feed
- Evenly distributed heat for a more consistent result
- The Anna Griffin Minc is lightweight and compact and takes up little storage space
What is a Minc?
The Minc is a metallic foil applicator. It helps you add real metallic foil and delicate glitter to your paper projects. The finished look is amazing! You can create all kinds of custom details with a touch of beautiful foil. This isn't a sticker or a faux foil ink… it's real metallic foil and glitter that is heat applied to the paper.
You can make your own foiled invitations, holiday cards and scrapbook accents. L.O.V.E. it, right!?
The machine itself is just the right size to fit on your craft table next to your other favorite tools so it's read when you are feeling creative.
I was sent the Minc to try so I could tell you all about it. Look at all this sparkly foil goodness!
So I wanted to see how the machine worked. I played with a few of the basic pretty word art pieces and was really impressed. So I wanted to see how detailed this foil application could go. This butterfly art came in the package. I tried it out with the pretty gold foil…
How AMAZING is THAT? Look at the detail in the butterfly wings! There are a few tiny spots that the foil did not adhere too. I was still playing with the heat settings, so I think next time, on this piece I would increase the heat one level.
Now check this out… this detailed design below is a background design you could use for a pretty card. Every line and flourish is covered in gold after running it through the Anna Griffin Minc. I am in Love!!
The Minc can also be used with designs you create yourself. I tried out this feature. The art needs to be produced using toner, such as from a laser printer or copy machine. I went the cheap route and had some copies made of my own art. The results were more of a vintage foil with some areas missing the foil. The toner was not high enough quality to produce a nice solid foil finish like the pieces I'm showing above. I recommend using a high end copier or a real laser printer… that's on my list next!
According to Ann's blog, the HSN Today's Special bundle will include:
“the machine, foil sheets, glitter sheets, toner paper and a huge assortment of Anna Griffin content from layers to tags to sentiments! If you have a laser printer at home, you can even print your own designs and run them through the Minc.”
You're not going to want to miss this opportunity, it such a fun machine! Anna Griffin Minc bundle
Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post. I am sharing my own opinions and experiences using the Anna Griffin Minc, accessories and foil application. I honestly love this machine and am happy to share this information, regardless of compensation.
How do you get the transfer sheets unstuck in the minc?
Hi JoAnn, the backing should peel right off. Are you finding it’s really difficult to remove? It might be that you don’t have the Minc temperature set high enough?
I was excited to receive the AG Minc machine from HSN. Having problems with the machine. The finished foil projects have black spots all over them (machine set on 3). Transfer covers have sticky residue on them after they come out of the machine. Very discouraged and disappointed at this time.
Oh No, I’m sorry to hear you are having problems with this machine! I do not have all the answers to help trouble-shoot. I’m not sure what would be causing the sticky problem. Have you tried reaching out to the AG folks on their site specifically? Please do let me know if I can help with something else.
