Magic Cookie Bars is my husband's all-time favorite cookie. They are super easy to make and you can change up some of the ingredient layers to add your own favorite flavors.
We always make sure to make a batch or 3 of these yummy cookies during the holidays.
Magic Cookie Bars are simple cookie recipe for kids to help with as no detailed mixing is involved. Add in your own favorite chip flavors, we like classic chocolate chip but I think they would be delicious with white chocolate, dark chocolate, peanut butter or a combination of other cookie chips.
I haven't tried it yet without nuts, so I'm unsure if you can make a good nut-free version.
How to Make Magic Cookie Bars
Make one batch or make a whole bunch. We love to share these cookies with friends and family. They are easy to make and taste so YUMMY!

- 9×12″ glass baking dish
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Pour melted butter into baking dish and spread evening.
- Put graham crackers or vanilla wafers in food processor until they are fine crumbs, sprinkle over melted butter in dish.
- Layer remaining ingredients evenly dish: sweetened condensed milk, coconut, nuts, chips, coconut, chips.
- Press down firmly to pack ingredients.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly brown.
- Let cool at least 1 hour, cut into bars.
Tips: I like using parchment paper on top of the ingredients when pressing down into the pan. Also, I prefer to let cool on the counter overnight before cutting. Storing at room temperature works best for us.
Thanks for linking up at the {Online} Christmas Cookie Exchange. Your Magic Bars recipe has been pinned 🙂 Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much. I just checked out all the yummy recipes and pinned the exchange page. Love this idea, thank you for including me. 😀
I love to make a cookie based on this recipe using leftovers after baking cookies. I make the crust then just add the little bits I have leftover. Every year they are different. This year they had some broken up pretzels, crushed candy canes, cut of kisses and candy bars and carmels and dried cranberries. I then pour the condensed milk on top. It is amazing what you can come up with. Try it sometime with leftover cereal bits.
We call these “Seven Layer Bars” at our house, except I always leave off the nuts so basically they are “Six Layer Bars”. And instead of peanut butter and white chocolate chips, I use butterscotch chips. Sometimes I add M&M’s (the pretzel ones are the best added). And I add the sweetened condensed milk last atop everything else, so no need to press down. We are going to have to have a bake-off together yet! Merry Christmas! 🙂
Awesome, I need to try these Kim style for sure… Merry Christmas to you too!
